Research & Development (R&D)

The Research and Development department at the Danish Meteorological Institute is engaged in meteorological and climate model development and research. Moreover, studies of upper tropospheric / lower stratospheric physical processes relevant for changes of the ozone layer and the future climate take place within the department.

The department is organized in three sections, the Danish Climate Centre (DKC), the Centre for Atmospheric Physics and Observations (CAO) and the Centre for Meteorological Models (CMM). The department is engaged in many international projects, and researchers in R&D participate actively in international assessments. The role as the Danish IPCC focal point is part of the R&D secretariat.
